Recap: 11/2017

November’s gathering was hosted by member Bridget Crowe, and featured the work of textile artist Heidi Parkes.

Heidi Parkes is a 2005 graduate from SAIC, a former high school art teacher in Naperville, IL, and a current textile artist in Milwaukee, WI.  Heidi exhibits her quilts nationally and regularly travels to teach workshops and lecture about her art.

Heidi specializes in hand quilting and hand-mending clothing and shared spectacular specimens of all of her works with LWD. Heidi also shared what inspires her, how she has developed her craft over time, and how she has found her way as a professional artist.

It was a very special meeting, and we welcome Heidi to the LWD community!
